Farewell to the House of Haunted Gill

Well, the time is almost upon us. This weekend will be the one where we relocate to a new home, bidding farewell to our previous haunt. I've honestly loved this house, and it is with a heavy heart that I must leave it. In the end, the house is only a physical object, and I know we'll have fun cooking up new ideas to add ghoulish touches to our new home.

Here are a few pics from Halloweens past (some of which have been published before):

Lovely pictures. Leaving a home is always difficult.

Always sad to leave a place you called home. Especially when associated with such memories.

Oh and I actually bought House on Haunted Hill recently, or the Haunting of Hill House which I think is the original novel's title.

Actually, "House on Haunted Hill" was an original screenplay, but it was released the same year as Shirley Jackson's novel, which has led to much confusion. The novel was adapted in 1963 as "The Haunting", which is a relatively faithful adaptation directed by Robert Wise. I speculate that the film took that name to avoid confusion with "House on Haunted Hill". In some ways, I'm grateful for the confusion...since I discovered both the film and novel when searching for information on the Vincent Price flick! At the same time, I discovered Matheson's "Legend of Hell House", which I also love.
