To me, this song is a MUST at any Halloween party. Danny Elfman's classic band, Oingo Boingo, performing their brilliant tune "Dead Man's Party". This particular video was shot for the flick "Back to School", so it is (unfortunately) laced throughout with snippets from that film. Still, it's a great ditty to get you in that Halloween spirit!

I love this song..of course being a literary geek I first loved it because it was a musical version of a french horror story from the early late 1800's- early 1900's, but I'm a geek like that, lol.
Also back in the glory day's of the Southern Califronia Rennaisance Pleasure faire there was a themed after hours party for actors there called dead pirate's wake themed around the song. Favorite. Party. EVER!

WOW! That sounds really cool!

Oh, and I didn't realize it was based on a French horror story. I always assumed it was just an homage to the Day of the Dead festival and never gave it much more thought than that! Thanks for sharing that tidbit with me! Learn something new every day!!!

I wish I could remember the name of the story.
It's actually a really creepy story about a guy who goes to a house party in the country and wakes up in the middle of the night. He looks out his window and sees all the other guests getting into a coach and the coach driver looks up at him and says "there's room for one more." It creeps him out and he says no and goes back to bed. The next morning he wakes up and finds out all the other guests died in their sleep. A few years later he is in a building in the city and they had just put in the first elevator in the city. He goes to get on it and the operator looks at him and says "there's room for one more" and he recognizes the coach driver from the party. he doesn't get on and the elevator crashes killing all the occupants.
I read it years ago and it's stuck with me all this time.
